Official Contest Rules

Section I - General Rules

  1. Contestants must enter through the CFGL website using the provided form.
  2. Contestants must create an original submission with limited guidance from others.
  3. CFGL and Elite Educational Institute will have the right to edit, publish or otherwise duplicate any submission entered into the contest without payment to the author/artist.
  4. Due to the number of entries received, only winners will be contacted with the results.
  5. There is no entry fee for this contest.

Section II - Qualifications for Contestants

  1. The competition is open to all students in grades 9-12 who have been or are currently enrolled in a program at Elite Prep.
  2. Contestants may submit only one entry entry during each competition.

Section III - Contest Rules

Spirit of Service Contest Rules
  1. Proposals must address the official contest objective.
  2. Proposals must be typed and double-spaced.
  3. Proposals must not exceed 2000 words.
  4. Proposals may include images, diagrams, and other supplemental materials.
  5. Any quotations or copyrighted material used in the proposals must be identified properly. Failure to identify non-original material will result in disqualification.
  6. Proposals must be written in English.
Young Leaders Essay Contest Rules
  1. Essays must address the official contest prompt.
  2. Essays must be typed and double-spaced.
  3. Essays must be between 400 and 600 words.
  4. Any quotations or copyrighted material used in the essays must be identified properly. Failure to identify non-original material will result in disqualification.
  5. Essays must be written in English.
Young Artists Contest Rules
  1. Submissions must address the official contest prompt.
  2. Submissions may be works of graphic design, painting, multimedia visual art, musical or spoken-word performance, poetry, or any other creation that can be reasonably defined as “creative art”.
  3. Artworks created previously and/or submitted to other competitions are permissible as long as the Terms and Conditions for those competitions do not restrict reproduction in future contests. Violation of such Terms and Conditions will result in disqualification.
  4. Any quotations or copyrighted material used in the submissions must be identified properly. Failure to identify non-original material will result in disqualification.

Section IV - Judging

  1. Judging will be completed by a panel of qualified judges.
  2. Judges will not discuss or compare proposals until all proposals have been judged.

Section V - Use of Competition Information

All competition entries become the property of CFGL and Elite Educational Institute. CFGL reserves the right to use any and all information related to the contest, including submissions provided by the contestants, for editorial, marketing and any other purpose, unless prohibited by law. Participants hereby grant CFGL and Elite Educational Institute a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to broadcast, publish, store, reproduce, distribute, syndicate, and otherwise use and exhibit the Submission (along with their names, voices, performance and/or likenesses) in all media now known and later come into being for purposes of trade or advertising without further compensation. Participants represent and warrant that they have full legal right, power and authority to grant CFGL and Elite Educational Institute the foregoing license and if applicable, have secured all necessary rights from any participants in, and contributors to, their Submission in order to grant such a license. CFGL and Elite Educational Institute are under no obligation to use any Submission or return the Submissions to participants.

Section VI - Limitations of Liability

By participating in the competition, you agree to release CFGL and Elite Educational Institute and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, directors, officers, and agents from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with your participation in the competition. CFGL and Elite Educational Institute are not responsible for late, lost or misdirected email or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. If for any reason, the competition is not capable of running as planned, CFGL may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
