CFGL Student Leadership Awards

Every year, CFGL honors the achievements and efforts of high school students around the world who exemplify leadership in both academic and extracurricular endeavors. 


 

The Brooks Douglass Award

Named after the Honorable Brooks Douglass, former State Senator from Oklahoma, the Brooks Douglass Award is given annually to a high school student who has demonstrated academic excellenceexceptional leadership skills, and outstanding service to his or her community.

The Van Tran Leadership Award

Named in honor of California State Assemblyperson Van Tran, the first Vietnamese-American to be elected to a state legislature, the Van Tran Leadership Award is given annually to a high school student who has demonstrated academic excellence and strong interest in politics and civil service.

The J. Patrick Park Young Entrepreneur Award

Named after enterprising businessman J. Patrick Park, who as an immigrant to the United States built a successful educational services company with offices worldwide, the J. Patrick Park Young Entrepreneur Award is given annually to a high school student who has demonstrated academic excellence and strong interest in business and entrepreneurship.

The James W. Gustafson Volunteer Service Award

Named after noted missionary Dr. James W. Gustafson, the James W. Gustafson Volunteer Service Award is given annually to a high school student who has demonstrated academic excellence and strong commitment to volunteering to improve the lives of others.

The Sanford Climan Entertainment & Media Award

Named after entertainment luminary Sanford Climan, former President of Worldwide Business Development at Universal Studios and producer of films such as "The Aviator", the Sanford Climan Entertainment & Media Award is given annually to one high school student who has demonstrated exceptional talent in the arts and media.
